Mission

Selecting a coach is a very personal thing. There are as many different varieties of coaches as there are personalities of those who choose this relatively new and somewhat noble profession. We are not therapists, nor pastors, nor missionaries, nor do-gooders. We do not purport to fix problems, yet we are devoted to the success of those we serve.

When I first became an independent consultant, I was fortunate enough to participate in a training session where I was encouraged to create a Personal Mission Statement. If the thought of these type of "warm, fuzzy" declarations makes you squeamish, click elsewhere and do not continue reading this page! If you are the type of person who likes to work with people whose values mirror your own, read on. This is personal stuff, about as personal as it ever gets, and these are the words that I live by and ask those close to me to hold me accountable to:

Karen Bergh: Personal Mission Statement

To live a life of passion, sharing my positive energy with those who draw strength and encouragement from it-my husband, children, friends, clients and associates.

To live a life of service, seeking to have those whom I serve teach me how to serve them ever better.

To live a life of joy, living in and experiencing "the moment," ever grateful for the blessings and beauty that God has given me.

To live a life of grace, acknowledging and reaching towards the perfect life I have in Christ.

To live a life of significance, touching and contributing to lives where the memory of my influence lives on and inspires after I'm gone.

To live a life free of "criticalness" and judgment, embracing the differences of all I encounter and celebrating what there is to love in each.
